New Words

Elijah returned this weekend from daddy's house saying a few new words.  He can now say  "Uncle & Aunt" very clearly.   He has a lot of these relatives on his daddy's side & one uncle on Mommy's side.

Moving Forward....

Today was an eventful day in Elijah & his parents lives.  The paperwork for the divorce proceedings were started last Monday (02.22.10) , they were filed with the courts, and today (02.28.10) some of the court documents were given to Elijah's daddy to read and respond to.

Thankfully, "Nonna Mia" (Nonna = Italian for Grandma) knows how important it is for everyone to make sure Elijah's needs are in the forefront of everyone's minds.  Therefore, she is going to play the part of  "Elijah Advocate".  This role is very important because it is going to help make sure everyone keep communicating openly, everyone understands & provides for Elijah's needs, everyone is fair to each other, and to also allow his parents to move on with their lives, yet, still co-parent successfully and raise Elijah in two loving environments.

Shots !

I took Elijah to the clinic to get him caught up on his immunizations.  Unfortunately, he was very behind so the little guy had to have 8 shots today & more to come in April.   T

Grandma got to give Elijah a bath today because he was spending the day with me while his Mom was out.  I took a few pictures to capture the moment...

Giant Train Set-Up !

Tonight, Courtney, Elijah and John put together the giant train set we had bought him for Christmas in our home.   Here are a few pictures of the Team Work that took place.   Elijah watching from under the table was the best spot in my opinion.... lol

Weekend Visit

Elijah is now home from his first weekend visit with his daddy since his parents split.   Elijah seemed to be very excited about being back and seeing his mother.  However, he seemed very exhausted.   Here he is taking a nap with his little buddies (Paisano & Isabella) watching over him and waiting for him to wake up.

Elijah's First Long Distance Road Trip !

Today, we all set off for Las Vegas for Grandma Maria & Grandpa John's 15th Wedding Anniversary & Renewal of Vows.    Courtney was a bit nervous because Elijah had never been in a car for so many hours and wasn't sure how he would act.  We reassured her that everything would be fine.

Low and Behold, the car ride couldn't have gone any better in our opinions.  Elijah loved looking out the window to find big trucks (which kept him busy most of the trip), we also sang ABC songs, itzy bitzy spider, and 3 little indians.  Off key of course, but what the heck we were having fun.  Elijah was so happy the whole car ride home.

Of course, we had to stop @ the giant Bass Pro Shop in Las Vegas so John could take Elijah to look around.  They checked out all the tents, boats, fish, and even got him a cool little hat.

Elijah, Grandpa John, and Trucks !

Grandpa John is not only excited to have Elijah living with us, he is ecstatic that Elijah loves all things cars, trucks, planes, etc.    So of course, Grandpa had to buy him a new yellow dump truck for his collection.

It was a beautiful day, so they decided to spend some time bonding and playing with the dogs.   BTW - Elijah has trouble saying Grandpa John , so it comes out sounding like "God".   However, Elijah is picking up more and more words each and every day.
