Elijah's First Car Show

Elijah, Mommy, Uncle Brandon, Grandpa John, and Nona Mia all went to a car show near San Diego, California.   We woke very early (4:00 am) so we could get down there early for breakfast before going to the show.

Here are a few pictures from our day:

This was us on the first half of the trip ...
We were so tired from getting up so early.

Uncle Brandon too

Lots of cool cars

This one I thought was super cool

Grandpa parked me in the perfect location
so I could watch all the cars as they cruise by

I would take pictures of the ones
I thought were the best

WOW !!  Some of those engines are LOUD ...
I had to cover my ears some times

The perfect ending to a perfect
car show day..... See you next time !

Drummer Boy !

Elijah gets his first drum lesson with Grandpa John.  Look how focused Elijah  is on John's instructions.

Photographer-In-Training....

The other day we went down to the San Diego area to see a Car Show.   I'd purchased Elijah a new "kid friendly" digital camera to start him off early photographing his world.

Here are a few pictures I took of Elijah taking pictures...

Where Did The Socks Go ?!

Shopping with the little guy is certainly fun and amusing.  We went to Target to get a few things for his mommy, but of course, Nona had to get a few things for my favorite little guy.

We started off with really cool "Cars" socks and some plastic yard shovels.   Next, we picked up a really cool "Transformers" book.

Once we arrived at the cash register to pay we found the socks and shovels had somehow disappeared, but at least he still had his book!

Shopping with Elijah is certainly an Adventure.  You never know what you will end up with !

Special Outing with Nona

Written from Elijah's perspective !

Yesterday was fun!   Nona Mia came home from work all excited and said she wanted to take me "bye-bye".  I'm excited to get out for a little bit since I've been inside most of the day.    Next, Nona says it will just be her and I.   I tried to ask a few times if Mommy was going bye-bye too, but Nona said this outing was just for the two of us.

Next,  she loaded me in my Car Seat and attempted to seatbelt me in.   She had trouble with the belt getting locked in position too far to reach the buckle.   She messed with it for a bit before she got it right.  I wondered if I should tell her that "Mommy knows how to do it", but she seemed so content on learning how to do it herself.   I sit patiently while she figures things out.

Nona drives a Jeep and its a lot of fun.   We talked about all the big trucks on the road, we saw a train going by, and we even sang some ABC songs and clapped our hands.   Nonna only clapped when we were stopped at the lights waiting to go.  She's big on this safety first thing...

We arrive outside a place called, "Golden Spoon" and Nona said we are going inside.  She spends another minute or so trying to get me out of the seatbelt.   This sure seems to be a struggle for her, perhaps she just needs more practice.     Nona asks for my hand since we are walking in a parking lot with cars.   I decide to let her hold my hand, just this time, since Mommy is not here.   I like to tease Nona by not letting her hold my hands sometimes,  but this time I better or she won't take me inside for frozen yogurt.

Nona orders enough yogurt to take home for the whole family.   They are going to be so excited !   Grandpa is going to say that Nonna is a bad influence on us, but he is going to eat it anyway and probably faster than anyone too.   He's soooo funny !

Nona hands me 4 spoons with napkins and leaves me in charge of taking these items home. Before we leave the store, I say Thank You to the cool guy who served it up and then bye-bye  to everyone in the store.  I can hear people say... awww, he is so cute, as I walk out.  .

Nonna is smiling and I know I make her happy.  I am being such a big boy and listening to everything she says.  In fact, I even try to make her happier by saying, " Thank You Nonna" over and over all the way home.    I'm so excited I can hardly wait to get home and eat my treats.

As you can tell by the pictures below, I like my yogurt !

Medical Follow Up ...

Today, Elijah had a follow up appointment to check on his pneumonia.  Hi favorite doctor  Dr. Chris Gruber was on duty today.  Dr. Gruber is amazing with kids, and you can tell by his background he has traveled the world to help others.   Elijah seems to be on the mend.

First Emergency Room Visit ...

Elijah wasn't feeling well yesterday so we took him to the Urgent Care to be examined by a doctor.  The doctor said he had a simple cold and to do the usual:  Tylenol for fever, Cold Medicine if he needs it for runny nose & cough, plenty of fluids.. etc.

Today his Mommy and I noticed that he was very congested,  so we kept an even closer eye on him.  Around 7p, we noticed he seemed to be even more congested and was now wheezing.  In fact, you could hear him wheeze across the room.   So, we headed back to Urgent Care.   When we arrived, they listened to his lungs and checked his pulse ox.  They felt it was best that we take him directly to the Emergency Room for care.

Next stop, Simi Valley Emergency Room...   Elijah ended up being diagnosed with Left lower lobe pneumonia.  He was given a breathing treatment, chest xray,  antibiotics and albuterol liquid.    We pretended he was Darth Vader of Star Wars when he was wearing the mask during his breathing treatment.  He thought that was awesome !

His first Emergency Room experience was a positive one.   He was "Mr. Popular" with all the nurses, doctors, respiratory and xray techs.  In fact, he was even given an Easter Basket which was filled with lots of goodies.
